POWER YOGA

with Jessica Brothers

MONDAYS • 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Cost: Members: FREE, Non-Members: Included with day pass/punch pass use OR $10 per drop-in session

Power yoga is an excellent way to strengthen and tone muscles. This class focuses on getting your heart rate up, your body warm, and improving strength and flexibility. Power yoga is based on Ashtanga and Hatha yoga, focusing on uniting breath and movement together. This carries into climbing perfectly and will bring balance in your body. Get ready to sweat as we discover our strength, unleash our power, and awaken our spirit.

INSTRUCTORS

Jessica Brothers Jessica began her journey with yoga in 2005.  As a life-long competitive gymnast and athlete, she found that yoga met her need for a creative, mental, and physical challenge.  After years of practice and recognizing all of the benefits of yoga on her whole person, she made the decision to deepen her study of all aspects of yoga and completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification Training in 2016.  In October 2016 she attended a weekend immersion in teaching children’s yoga.  Jessica is a Master’s level clinician who specializes in trauma, attachment, and development and works with children and families in therapeutic foster care.  Teaching yoga has allowed her to expand her passion of teaching, helping, and understanding others in a way that also provides a much needed outlet for self-care.  It allows her to slow down, focus on others, and continue to learn and grow through sharing her love for all things yoga.  Her classes focus on the importance of mindfulness, breath, and focus to find hidden strength, balance, and awareness of the potential of the whole self.

REBEKAH LUHRs For Rebekah, teaching and practicing yoga is a lifestyle. As an individual, it is a way for her to push herself to grow both physically and spiritually. Based on a foundation of trust, communication, and support, the practice of AcroYoga empowers positive growth in individuals, relationships, and communities in the most fundamental ways. Ultimately this growth is what she is passionate about. Rebekah has been practicing yoga for almost ten years and completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification Training at the Asheville Yoga Center in North Carolina. She has been practicing AcroYoga since 2011 and is certified through AcroYoga International. Her and her partner, Frank Genovise, are avid climbers and like to spend time up at the Obed.
