Adaptive Climb NightS | SECOND MONDAY OF EACH MONTH • 6:00-9:00P
EXCLUDING NOVEMBER AND JANUARY
Onsight Rock Gym would like to welcome people of all ages with physical disabilities to participate in our Adaptive Climbing Program in partnership with the Knoxville Chapter of Catalyst Sports. Rock climbing is a versatile sport that allows for a broad range of adaptations to fit the needs of people with limiting conditions. Our Adaptive Climbing Program provides an inclusive atmosphere for climbers to achieve their goals with the support of our volunteers and Onsight Rock Gym Staff. Our program will assist participants in learning to identify and utilize their existing abilities so they too can benefit from all that rock climbing has to offer.
Participants: New and experienced climbers are encouraged to attend. As a result of our fundraising efforts and the generosity of our donors, we will be accepting donations in lieu of a day pass for the first three months of the program. The program includes climb time, instruction, climbing gear and any adaptations you might need.
Volunteers: Volunteers are needed to help belay, encourage, and introduce climbing to participants. All volunteers wishing to assist with belaying of participants will need to have a top-rope certification on file BEFORE the day of the event. We encourage you to contact us prior to the date you wish to volunteer so we can provide a volunteer orientation.
Additional Information: Onsight requires that everyone have a signed waiver on file upon entering the facility and prior to entering the climbing areas. Please make sure to fill out the Online Waiver before the day of the event as this will save you a considerable amount of time. First time participants and volunteers should arrive 15 minutes early to get checked-in and complete orientation.
